Healthy Chinese recipe!

Fried rice made with brown rice and baked sesame chicken.

Chinese food as most of you know is a greasy, unhealthy take out option for those who have busy evenings. Traditional Chinese food on the contrary, is extremely healthy, nourishing and a fulfilling way of eating. Chinese cuisine is both exciting and comforting. Try this healthier homemade versions to ensure you keep calories. The sesame chicken is simply the easiest grilled chicken marinade I have ever made, with only five ingredients including chicken, tomato paste, soy sauce sesame seeds and sesame oil.

All you need is:

  • 1 cup of tomato paste/puree

  • 2 Tbsps sesame seeds

  • 2 Tbsp sesame oil

  • 2 Tbsps soy sauce

  • 2 chicken breast pieces

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180C. Line baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.

  2. In a mixing bowl, add tomato paste, sesame seeds, sesame oil and soy sauce and whisk until well combined with a fork.

  3. Coat the chicken and arrange them on the prepared baking tray.

  4. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes and serve immediately with your choice of rice or salad
